This book is great. My daughter loves the pictures, especially the butterfly at the end. My dad remembers reading this to me as a kid, but he didn’t remember how it went. The caterpillar eats and eats and eats until its full, builds a cocoon and becomes a butterfly. Lovely children’s story. Great for using over the top fluency to make it into a silly story time.

We raised 6 horned tomato caterpillars. They survived in and in my tomato plants. Moved them to a caterpillar habitat and after they buried themselves in the soil, where they became cocoons, and we moved them to the garden for the winter. They emerge in the spring as nighthawk moths, digging out of the ground., Their appetite is definitely like it shows in the book, but only for tomatoes and their plants. The book was interesting because it also showed the caterpillars growing, a lot! Of course, liberties were taken with the book, but it was still an entertaining read.

I didn’t realize this was a small book, I was expecting the original size but it works out fine! Thick pages make it great for baby’s first book., Same great story as always!

This is a classic book that I feel every child enjoys. I purchased this as a gift. I loved that it is a board book so little hands will not break this book easily. The illustrations are beautiful!
