It’s summertime and Eva Wingdale is going to the beach, in this New York Times bestselling early chapter book series just-right for emerging readers! Pick a book. Grow a Reader! This series is part of Scholastic’s early chapter book line, Branches, aimed at newly independent readers. With easy-to-read text, high-interest content, fast-paced plots, and illustrations on every page, these books will boost reading confidence and stamina. Branches books help readers grow! Eva is visiting the beach with her best friend Lucy! They can’t wait to build sandcastles and make seashell necklaces. But Eva is secretly afraid to go swimming because of the big fish — like sharks! — that live in the sea. After Eva hears the “Legend of the Mermowls” and spots her classmate Sue in the water, the sea doesn’t seem so scary. Will Eva face her fears and maybe find some magic at the beach, too? Rebecca Elliott’s sweet text and full-color artwork on every page bring this story to life for young readers! Continue this book series with “Eva the Owlet,” an Apple TV+ original series!

My 6 year old daughter owns all of the Owl Diaries books and she loves them so much! These books are worth every pennies because there is a lot of writing among each chapters and beautiful illustrations all over! The stories are adventurous, funny, and super cute! I’m super happy i got that book right before Valentine’s day to give to my daughter!

I am continuing the series I started for my grandson. He is on book 14, and at 6 years old finds them easy to read (he has above-level reading scores). But he still loves the stories and reads them over and over.

My granddaughter found the Owl Series in her school library. Wished we had found the series earlier, since she just started 3 grade. As a retired teacher, I enjoy the series. Nice graphics, excellent thought out story line. Diaries are fun and individual. The 7 day week makes for a perfect length. I also enjoy making lists, so that is a fun element. Relatable to kids – family and school life. Word play is a part of our family life. As a teacher, I enjoy the questions at the end. Living on near Lake Michigan beaches and having visited the Atlantic Ocean, since my granddaughter enjoys dolphins. This book was a hit.
