This is a record of the household crafts of women from bygone ages, recognizing their skills and recalling the techniques and artefacts that were once an integral part of everyday life. The book contains period photographs and anecdotes from the author’s childhood memories. Almost all the crafts and skills are associated with properties owned by the National Trust.
