My fascination with all things Japanese began after attending a wedding in Tokyo. I was captivated. Enthralled. Hooked. Tokyo simply blew my mind as I realized that everything I knew about Japan was from movies. I started to learn Japanese as a way to try and get closer to the Japanese way of life. I won’t lie, it’s not easy. I was confused by the script, to say the least. It is a seemingly daunting system. But, if you stick with it, it’s rewarding. I’m lucky that my friend is married to a lovely Japanese girl and so I have someone to pester when I need to practice. That is the key, practice, practice, and practice. I probably only know 60 but around 2,000 of the right words is generally considered to be ‘proficient’. So, I still have a way to go. This is the reason I have created the book, initially for myself but hopefully, it will also help you. Why should you buy this book? In addition to the Kanji practice paper, I’ve also included: Some basic yet useful Japanese phrases A Kanji chart for 1st and 2nd Grade (if you’re already more advanced, then just skip to the practice papers). Also included are Hiragana and Katakana alphabet charts Kanji numbers 1-10 This paper is useful for children or adults who are learning the Japanese language. It is traditional to write top to bottom, right to left, but some people prefer writing horizontally. Cover Designs The books come in a series of Japanese Sumi-e style watercolor designs featuring various animals. See if you can collect them all!
