“In recent years, drug overdoses have been rising in many communities. Many overdoses are fatal. In fact, in 2020, drug overdose deaths soared over 93,000, a record number according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Drug overdoses can strike anywhere, in cities, suburbs, and rural areas from Florida to Alaska. People of all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups have been affected by the rise in overdoses”–
